Content Integrity & Editorial Standards
Updated February 2026
At Douglas, we believe trust is earned through accuracy, transparency, and experience. Our customers rely on us for insight into secondary packaging automation, and we take that responsibility seriously.
This page outlines how we create, review, and maintain the content published on douglas-machine.com and in our Learning Center.
Our Commitment to Content Integrity
We are committed to publishing accurate, balanced, and trustworthy information about packaging automation and the consumer packaged goods markets and other industries we serve. Every piece of content is developed by our marketing team in collaboration with internal subject matter experts (SMEs), and domain specialists including:
- Mechanical, Electrical, and Controls Engineers
- Application Specialists
- Field service technicians
- Sales engineers and managers
- Members of our leadership team
We combine hands-on industry experience with research from trusted trade associations and standards organizations to ensure our content reflects real-world application and current best practices.
We do not publish paid or sponsored content, and we do not accept payment for editorial inclusion.
Our Editorial Process
1. Topic Development
Topics are developed based on:
- Customer needs and common questions
- Industry trends and regulatory developments
- Insights from our sales and field teams
- Trade show and industry event learnings
- Research from organizations such as PMMI and other trade associations
Our goal is to serve as a trusted advisor in the secondary packaging industry — not simply to promote products.
2. Expert Input & Technical Validation
- Content is created in partnership with Douglas subject matter experts and domain specialists. Technical claims, machine capabilities, performance metrics, and specifications are reviewed and verified by the appropriate experts before publication.
- All performance claims (including throughput, efficiency improvements, or labor impact) are validated internally prior to publishing.
- When applicable, we reference industry standards (such as FDA, OSHA, PMMI, and other regulatory or trade organizations) and cite third-party research to support factual statements.
3. Multi-Round Review & Approval
Before publication, content goes through multiple rounds of review between Marketing and relevant SMEs and domain specialists to ensure:
- Technical accuracy
- Clarity and accessibility
- Alignment with current machine capabilities
- Compliance with industry standards
- Overall integrity and fairness
All final content is edited, reviewed and approved by human experts prior to publication.
Accuracy, Updates & Continuous Improvement
The packaging industry evolves quickly — and so does our content. We regularly review and update existing articles and product pages to reflect:
- Updated machine capabilities
- Changes in regulatory or industry standards
- New research or data
- Evolving best practices
If an error is identified, we correct it promptly. Our commitment to continuous improvement applies to both our equipment and our information.
Objectivity & Balanced Perspective
While we design and manufacture secondary packaging automation, our educational content is developed with objectivity in mind.
We openly discuss:
- When automation may not be the right solution
- Implementation challenges and operational results
- Alternative approaches
- Situations where Douglas may not be the best fit
When referencing competitors, we avoid direct attacks and focus instead on factual comparisons and transparent differences in approach. Our goal is to provide useful, honest guidance that helps businesses make informed decisions — whether or not they ultimately choose Douglas.
Customer & Industry Collaboration
In addition to internal expertise, we incorporate insights from:
- Customer interviews and case studies
- Industry research
- Trade association publications
- Trade shows and professional events
These perspectives help ensure our content reflects real-world application and industry context.
Responsible Use of AI
We use AI tools to assist with research, drafting, and idea development. However:
- AI is never used as a substitute for subject matter expertise
- All AI-assisted content is thoroughly reviewed and fact-checked by Douglas experts
We do not publish unreviewed or fully AI-generated content. Human expertise, engineering experience, and industry knowledge remain at the core of everything we publish.
Editorial Independence
Douglas does not publish sponsored content, paid endorsements, or guest blogs.
While our sales and application teams contribute valuable industry insight, all Learning Center content is developed with the intent to educate and inform. Editorial decisions are guided by accuracy, relevance, and usefulness — not sales influence.
Our Standard
We aim to be a trusted resource for engineers, procurement teams, executives, operations and maintenance technicians, and industry partners. By combining deep technical expertise, rigorous review, transparent processes, and responsible use of technology, we strive to provide content you can rely on.
If you have questions about our content or believe something needs clarification, we welcome your feedback.
