Douglas Machine Inc. – Alexandria, MN
Buyer II (full-time 1 st shift) – Responsible for procurement of materials, supplies, equipment, and services required by various Douglas Machine Inc. business units
Education and/or Experience:
Must have a minimum of three years experience or equivalent in a manufacturing environment that includes metal fabrication and assembly. Post-secondary education and/or professional certification (APICS, NAPM, etc.) is preferred. Supply Chain Management and World Class Manufacturing training and/or experience is desirable.
Electrical Engineer (full-time 1 st shift) – The Electrical Engineer is responsible for producing the complete machine control system that complies with engineering and electrical standards for each project he/she is assigned. He/she is also involved in the creation of design standards/practices and the development of new machine concepts. The Electrical Engineer provides guidance to other less experienced Electrical Designers and Engineers and work direction to Assistant Designers assigned to his projects. The Electrical Engineer must have an Electrical Engineering degree and an understanding of machine logic. Must be familiar with and able to use the CAD system.
Engineering Technician Level I or II (full-time 1 st shift) – This position works under general engineering supervision and follows established procedures. Work is periodically monitored by the Engineering Manger or Engineer and reviewed upon completion for soundness of technical judgment, overall accuracy, and thoroughness in meeting project technical requirements. The Technician I may occasionally work with little or no supervision for extended periods.
This position is typically responsible for projects of a variety of scope and complexity within the company, which requires a high level of accuracy, accountability, and decision-making ability.
This position has frequent contact with other inter-organizational and outside customer contacts on routine technical issues. This position represents the organization in providing solutions to difficult technical problems associated with specific projects.
Education and/or Experience:
This individual must have superior capabilities and aptitude in either the mechanical or electrical controls fields or have demonstrated strengths in both disciplines to qualify for this position
Field Service Technician (full-time 1 st shift) – Performs field service function for Douglas manufactured equipment. Service work may include, but is not limited to, routine maintenance, repairs, modification, machine setup, or training of customer personnel. Individual must have good mechanical and electrical background, preferably in a manufacturing or production area. Individual must be capable of reading blueprints, machine drawings, and electrical drawings. Has to be skilled in the use of a laptop computer and related software, variety of machine and hand tools, and must be willing to travel approximately 75% of the time.
Maintenance Technician (full-time 1st shift) – The Maintenance Technician performs maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of electromechanical equipment and systems, including building systems, CNC equipment, hand tools, welders and various PC and PLC controlled machines. The Maintenance Technician is also responsible for the maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of fluid power systems.
In addition, the Maintenance Technician must be able to effectively use electronic schematics, ladder diagrams, blue prints, technical manuals, parts catalogs and test equipment to determine defective components and perform repairs. This position is also responsible for completing preventative maintenance procedures on equipment. Work must comply with appropriate regulatory codes.
Because of the high potential for serious bodily injury and damage to equipment, it is imperative the Maintenance Technician have an extensive knowledge and practical working experience with hi-voltage electricity. No further consideration will be given to candidates who do not meet this criterion.
Education and/or Experience:
Master Scheduler (full-time 1st shift) – This position is responsible for creating and maintaining master schedules for new machine orders, tracking progress of in-process orders, and monitoring the workload of the production departments.
Education and/or Experience:
Project Application Engineer (full-time 1st shift) – The Project Application Engineer assesses machine requirements/specifications, prepares formal quotations, co-ordinates assigned projects and is the customer liaison through machine acceptance. This position normally requires a BS degree or its evaluated equivalent, which include applying technical solutions to packaging industry requirements. Technical knowledge of Douglas Machine Inc.’s product lines and Douglas Machine Inc.’s sales procedures is desired. Individual must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills. Individual must be proficient at using a personal computer. Must have sound trade knowledge and have demonstrated above average organizational skills and leadership skills. Individual must be familiar with the Douglas documentation system. Individual must be capable of reading blueprints of packaging machinery. Individual must have a range of computer skills including word processing, spreadsheets, E-mail, and internet/intranet. Individual must be familiar with accessing data files on the AS400.
Remote Field Service Technician – Level 2 or 3 (full-time 1st shift) – Performs remote field service function for Douglas manufactured equipment. Service work may include, but is not limited to, routine maintenance, repairs, modification, machine setup, or training of customer personnel. Technician will work on an “as assigned” basis. Individual must have good mechanical and electrical background, preferably in a manufacturing or production area. Individual must be capable of reading blueprints, machine drawings, and electrical drawings. Skilled in the use of a laptop computer and job related software, variety of machine and hand tools preferred. Individual must be willing to travel. Excellent communications skills required.
Shop Laborer (full-time 2nd shift) – With diminishing assistance and direction, provides support service to line operators. Individual must be mentally alert and physically able to perform tasks in a timely manner.
Welder (full-time 3rd shift) – Is capable of performing a variety of welding functions. The individual is familiar with and capable of using various types of welding equipment.
